All book covers I sometimes hate unless they are hard because they are easier to hold and have less chance of getting torn apart. That is what I think :)
A book cover can have just as much depth as the story itself and every aspect of it can represent something, like if the main character's favorite color is green and the cover is green, it doesn't even have to be something big but if you look closely you can often find small details that pay homage to the story. Generally as a person reads a book the cover begins to make more sense as to why it looks the way it does and by the time you finish the story and close the book you realize that the answers had been in front of you the whole time.
