Governor Cuomo's signing and glee over the so-called Reproductive Health Act made me question his moral judgement and upbringing.
Then I read his Op-Ed piece in which he stated he was educated in religious schools and is a former altar boy.
I must apologize for my questioning. All is forgiven!
I'm sure his teachers and the pastor of the church where he was an altar boy are or would be very proud of him.

“Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez wore a white cape-jacket hybrid, and
‘channeled a ’90s Sade on a mission to help save us all.’
This is 1980s Sade, but still:
Tune of “Smooth Operator”
Cape and slacks, don’t relax.
She sets the stage
For minimum wage and maximum tax.
She is wise, That compromise
Means deals will close
By facing their lows with higher highs.
It’s not about fashion, so we are told.
But still it’s an entrance to behold.
Some call her too candid, we call her bold.
Up to the task,
She’s a smooth legislator.
Schmooze, legislator!
Fans delight, L.A. through Chicago
To The Cape
As in the White House and Mar-A-Lago,
Scrapes take shape
Smooth legislator.
Schmooze, legislator!

Thank you for the good word about Black History Month in remembering those African-American New Yorkers whose accomplishments have been long forgotten or overlooked.
It's never too late.

@N. Smith, I hope it's Ok to mention that the Public advocate debate pointed out yet again the surprising sad-but-real factor, that one protected class can feel the pain of being excluded, yet not empathize that other protected classes feel exactly the same about being treated disparately over how they were born. To see someone who has felt the pain of being excluded as an African-American and a neurologically disabled person not feeling (except as a legal construct) the rights of LGBTQ and women's right to choose, yet being a very proud Democrat, continues to be a head-scratcher and head-shaker. (even if he says he'll observe those rights while they're the law. What happens if there's a President Pence, for example?)

@Freddie
Yes. I too I dread to think of what will happen to this country under a President Pence, and for every reason that you can well imagine.
And the sad remains that we are now living in very strange times, where the extreme wealth and power of a few has basically relegated the rest of us to the garbage heap of humanity -- regardless of skin color, religion, political affiliation, gender, or mental and physical prowess.
Strange days, indeed....
