Can you reopen the challenge? I have signed up for it but can’t click on the days. Thanks!

I embraced this challenge even though I was going on 'vacation' a week into it. I looked forward to reading and completing the challenge each day. Interesting comment about the toothbrushing while standing on one foot. I love it. I am approaching my 8th decade so I realize balance is a skill to be practiced. While on the vacation, I was walking in a parking garage and tripped. I swear if I hadn't brushed my teeth on one foot, I would have hit the ground--head first. Best part is the ability to do two days in one or interchange them. A plan that encourages participation because it is flexible. Thanks, NYT and Tara Parker-Pope

I am loving this challenge ! Please keep it on line so one can do some not yet done. And to repeat some, especially the meditations. After perhaps a break during February, as we see how we do without reminders and inspiration, and then another round in March. This time might there be alternative exercises for those of us using rollators, with arthritis, heart failure etc. My sincere thanks to all involved, including the artists and designers.

I have been really enjoying the challenge. I hope you continue to offer similar content

I love everything about this exercise...save for one issue...being a guy, I was wondering where the male model for the exercises was..it would save me from thinking just a tiny bit that this was a slight bit sexist???…like I said, minor issue, just was wondering about your thoughts?

I wish they would discuss what one can expect from short workouts like these. Is weight loss possible or are short workouts more about maintenance? I’ve read articles about this kind of training, it seems a bit too short and easy, except for the pushups. I am motivated by the short duration to keep it up. I have no excuse not to do it. Thank you.

I have been reasonably fit...lots of walking, moderate hiking, a mostly plant based diet. I recently injured my knee and have been unable to do even my modest program. I am well past mid-life. In the course of a few weeks, I just gave up...turning into a sloth. I started your program and all of the exercises are do-able and even things I have been doing for years like stretching and meditating seem refreshed. I look forward to each email in my inbox. Thank you

I was trying to lose a few pounds for an upcoming cruise, so I thought, why not try this challenge? I like the NYT and science! It's been really fun! I like the variety but I also like the gentle repetition. I now have some concrete practices (maybe soon, habits?) that I'll have forever: new exercises, a way to exercise (aerobic, upper body, lower body, core), and easy ways to actually be mindful. I think my favorite challenge so far has been the "share a song" one. That was a really low-key, but memorable, way to re-connect with my spouse. Thanks for all the challenges!

Please keep the workouts and the meditations (or just the whole set of challenges) available after the 30 days. The workouts are handy bites you can do even if you don’t have much time or are out of shape. And the meditations and mindfulness challenges are also good (one or two extraordinary) gateways to daily use or learning more!!

I had a knee injury right before the first day and could not do almost all of the exercises. :( I signed off, but hope to begin again when my knee will tolerate the physical workouts.

Day two was ridiculous. Meditation while standing on one leg aand brushing my teeth is dreadful multi-tasking. You can not do any of these activities as they should be done to be effective, and I suspect some people had minor injuries trying. I hope you keep the workout videos available; I’ve modified them, but they are mostly fairly simple and can be adapted.

I hope you keep the workout videos available to subscribers after the challenge is over. I’ve been enjoying doing them with my 3 year old after school when the weather is too bad to go outside. I’d love to keep this going all winter.

I have been doing this, and for the most part enjoying it. The Sat., Jan. 19 suggestions for salads were pretty lame. The recipes are nearly all kale-kale-kale -- if I am someone who doesn't know how to make a salad, or doesn't choose them, kale is not where to start with me. The recipes given for salads in the second part are a bit better, but there are a few duds, mostly notably the carrot recipe that is confusing and seems to be a mash-up of two different recipes.

Thank you for this challenge since day one it had allowed me to fully comprehend that even the little things count. Working on developing good and healthy habits bit by bit is the science of it all.

When I read about the challenge I said "why not". I was feeling very good about my success of my own personal challenge of losing weight last year and thought this would be an added incentive tool to help me lose more. I was very happy to find, that a lot of the challenges listed, I had already incorporated in my revamped daily lifestyle. My REAL challenge in this challenge is keeping the journal. I "proclaimed" in the beginning, I DON'T DO JOURNALS!! But so far, so good. And it does feel satisfying to express one's thoughts everyday about the positives and negatives of getting through each challenge. I recently had a friend read my journal (a reconnecting challenge with friends) and she was very impressed. So, with that gratifying validation, I continue as my mantra states, STAY THE COURSE!!
stelgets (Hayes, Va)
@CD GRANT i forget the journal part, but always whip through to the end to get to "I did It", and then check my progress. Thanks for reminding me for my journal. I usually write my walking/cycling data, but have neglected the NYT challenge. With everyone else in my family an English major, I just "skip" that part. As my sister says, if you don't document it, it didn't happen. I particularly liked the tea meditation day. I incorporated that all day at work, with intense focus. Got my co-worker to try it. Stay the course, but document it in the journal I purposely started for challenge. Minimal entry, but a note every day. Negatives/positives would be way too much, but worth thinking about.
CD GRANT (NEW YORK)
@stelgets You're very welcome for the reminder. Just to clarify, my journal entries were short and to the point. I didn't write about negatives AND positives, it was one or the other. Not all the challenges were happy challenges. Remember what I stated, I DON'T DO JOURNALS!! When I read back on the journey, I get my own accurate account on what I liked and disliked AND why I didn't complete a couple of them for integrity sake of the challenge. Thanks for sharing and best of luck with your entries!
