I love his music and his music will forever be timeless and he's one of the greats like Michael Jackson, Prince and Elvis. And I don't about prince but the Michael andElviss had the same underage thing going on. These super powerful and famous artists are super messed up. He had a great career and made some great music but ruined his legacy. Regardless I will still listen to his music because it is simply the best music out there in my opinion. And if he ever starts touring again I will go to his concerts but was too young to as a kid in the 90's but would love to go as an adult now.

My opinion on this essay is that this is a good detailed essay. I also think that R kelly is guilty though. The fact that for the past 20 years females has been accusing him and there was a video of him sexually assaulting the little girl it proof that he is guilty. If people are accusing you then at some point it is going to get old and people is going to stop and usually it's just one person accusing the person but this is multiple and if people kept it going for 20 years R kelly must have been doing something wrong. I don't mean to offend of the Robert Kelly lovers but there is plenty of proof that he did sexually assault girls and he has no proof that he didn't.

Here's how I feel about the whole situation . I'm torn to two conclusions either he did all theses horrible things and he's a sick individual and he deserves everything that's coming to him . Or either he is just being lied on and being taken advantage of . How can the allegations not be true there are videos and pictures the back up these allegations . For God's sake he married to Aaliyah and she was 15 years of age and he was 27 at the time how can the allegations not be true . People just don't wanted to believe the truth .

with this topic in mind i would like to say that to some people there cold be two sides to the story, but in my own opinion i would say that even many people have know for years that R.Kelly would/have done these types of things and are completely over reacting about this situation, And i think the law should just contain this act behind closed doors and let the justice system deal with this instead of the publics, and media view. another thing is that not only his is the blame its also the girls to blame and their parents.
Sam (Homewood, Alabama)
This topic is very split in my opinion. There are two different ways of thought. There is the side where people immediately say yes of course R. Kelly did this. Why would these poor innocent girls lie about something like this. But in the past few years there have been many many false accusations of celebrities. But what I think is that he is an innocent man. He in no way could have done this. And if he said he didn't do it. Than this man didn't do it. These woman are just wanting the attention by yelling out these false accusation.

R Kelly deserves what he got? he shouldn’t be letting out of the public.his dangerous, especially around ladies, I can understand if he did only one time, but too many like that,it’s a pattern 4/him to do that over and over again?

I applaud the women who spoke up for themselves in the R. Kelly scandal, however i believe that it is just too late. Sure their stories might have been real but they should have spoke their truth during the court case in the 90’s, and not when they were the one who were benefiting from tell the stories or making a profit from them. “This is a decades-old story. The call to action is, disgustingly, about 15 years too late.” Says Britt McHenry when talking about the documentary. Not only has the critics from public figures come too little, too late for Kelly’s victims, many were underage when the incidents happened so there is nothing that can really be done now. If they would’ve testified against R. Kelly in the court case then he wouldn’t have evaded prison and that would’ve made one less alleged pedophile off the streets of Chicago.

My reaction when I read the article was "finally, this being brung to the light, this is going to be taken care of correctly" When I was about 9 or 10 I remember my mom not wanting my dad to listen to R. Kelly anymore because at that time he had 'peed' on a girl at one of his concerts and I don't think they took the correct steps to get justice for that individual at all. They just brushed it under the rug because yes, she was a black girl.
Daniel Walter (Bryant, AR)
In my opinion, the whole me too movement has gotten out of control. Whether it be R. Kelly’s allegations, which have been public for some time, or people going back on famous people’s twitters and finding bad stuff they have said about race or gender. For example, Kevin Hart was supposed to host this years Oscars, but someone went back and found something offensive he tweeted 10 years ago. However, people fail to realize the view of things are always changing; what is considered offensive today probably wasn’t considered offensive 10 years ago. R. Kelly has been the object of accusations and has even had an inappropriate video out since 2014, yet this hasn’t stopped people from listening to music. Only now, since lifetime made a documentary portraying the atrocities committed by R. Kelly, his music has been disgraced and taken off major music apps.
Lasharea (United States)
I think that these women are just trying to get money out of him. At the end of the day, they signed a contract and knew what they were getting themselves into. They didn't care as long as they were getting some money. Some of it could be true but why is everything just now coming out? I feel like they try to destroy peoples image everytime they move a step forward.
Ayrton (Paris, France)
R.Kelly is a famous R&B singer, he has had many great hits and a story that is detrimental to his image. he was a good singer but he did his time
Hawa (New York)
When I heard about the allegations made aganist R.Kelly I was in complete wonder of how Black women could have been saying this for years but I am recentely finding out from this documentary. For me it came out of no where and now I have the urging sense to skip his songs when i am listening to my music on shuffle. Why is this? Maybe because I feel I am supporting him if I support his music. Yes he's made hits that a lot of people love but at the end of the day, you're going to have to make a sacrifice and see where you draw the line. there will always be other music out there.
grace (yhkk)
My answer to R.Kelly's situation is that I feel that everyone involved is at fault. Even people who blame R.Kelly for letting these things happen to them and people around R.Kelly were probably aware of this situation. And instead of the parents and children declaring R.Kelly at that time, they decided to accept the money and accept what was happening at that time.
hanna (paris )
In my opinion, this has been going on for way too long, and it took a documentary to get the word spread. Something needs to be done. Personally, I think that everyone needs to stop supporting him by not listening to his music. If his career starts to downfall, maybe an action will be taken. If people continue to support him by listening to his music, nothing will change. I think it is incredibly brave of the women he assaulted to be speaking up for what is right.
Sofiat (New York)
Regarding the R. Kelly situation, where does it stop if you remove his music from platforms due to the allegations? If you remove his songs for his problematic past, does this apply to other artists as well? Is it possible to separate the art from the artist? Personally, I don't know where I stand. While I'm an advocate for freedom of expression and the right to create art, what if that artist is a bad person and have done really bad things?
jehandry (Bronx)
R.Kelly, known as a famous R&B singer, had many great hits and just because he has all these allegations doesn't mean his songs is bad. However, if people are so concerned and upset about his actions why continue listening to his music?
Bright (New York, New York)
Personally, I feel that it is the parents fault and not the child. Allowing your child to travel across the states with a man that you don't know seems a little foolish to me. Whether he promised those girls fame or not, their parents should have been in attendance at all times. Especially since all of them were aware of the previous allegations against him. Being acquitted doesn't mean it didn't happen. It just means he wasn't caught.
Jay (Bronx)
In my opinion, people should not listen to his music. By muting his music maybe some actions will be taken. But if people continue to listen to his music, then investigators may brush it off their shoulders and he might get away with it. I commend all those females who spoke out against R, Kelly because it takes a lot of courage to speak about such a sensitive topic.
Destiny (Bronx)
To be quite honest, I feel that this has been going on for way too long. Artists and other celebrities think they can get away with anything and do whatever they want just because they have a lot of money and fans. I think that people should stop supporting R.Kelly and stop listening to his music because the messages behind his music is not right either. When he was with Aaliyah he wrote the song Age ain't nothing but a number for her and had her sing and record. What kind of person does that?
Jonathan (Nebraska )
Honestly just because he may or may not of done bad things doesn't mean his music should be removed, his music and its messages are separate from who he is and it shouldn't be removed, people shouldn't apologize for working with him in the past or even if they do work with him now, the allegations are bad yea but that doesnt mean you need to apologize for working with him... If you committed a crime should your parents apologize for helping you get through life? No, so should people he's worked with apologize for helping with music... No

@sam onella I completely disagree with you, actions can be taken without needing to completely destroy his work and job, its all he has to live off of, even IF he did something bad his music is partially separate from who he is as a person, people may not support his actions but they do support his music. People not listening to his music will change anything but his career. Also we don't know if her allegations are true its all just a rumor right now, it could be made up ,i dont know, neither do you.
Desiree (New York, New York)
@Jonathan I disagree with you. I feel that some of his sick beliefs can still be found in his music. For example, if you look at the song Age Ain't Nothing But A Number, which he wrote for a then 15 year old Aaliyah, he's basically saying that people should accept relationships with large age gaps and that's wrong. He even married Aaliyah when she was 15 while he was 27. I feel like the whole problem with bringing this man to justice is people still like his music and when you have the support of fans, then you feel like you could do whatever you want and get away with it, which is exactly what he's doing.

this is incredible, people need to fight for whats right. this r kelly stuff has been going on for a very long time and now os when these poor ladys get their voice heard.

This has been going on for so long, people need to take a stand. I've watched so many #metoo moments on YouTube and they all made me cry, however I was disappointed when I went into the comments and saw other girls putting each other down. Weather we like each other or not at the end of the day we have to be in this together. So weather or not those accusations of R. Kelly are true this is a wake up call for everyone to always take people serous and R. Kelly has some explaining to do.
Olivia Choutupalli (Florida)
This article outlines the complex past of R. Kelly, a now known sexual abuser of black girls. A documentary was produced by Dream Hampton to call Kelly out on getting away with these crimes because of his fame. But since its release, people have taken notice and boycotted his music as well as demanding a punishment for his crimes. However, this is a controversial topic, as Kelly is a popular artist. Some say they can separate the man from the music, but the more listeners Kelly gets, the weaker the argument for his conviction. His revenue is not only funded by listeners, whether they support him or not, but also the argument that he is too influential to be put in jail is influenced by this. The music industry needs to start holding these artists, no matter how famous they are, accountable for their actions. Kelly's music can be kept on streaming services, as I feel it violates a freedom of speech issue to take it down currently, but his past collaborators should give their take on the issue and the people should stop listening to his music. It is completely unacceptable that these young black girls' accusations have been brushed under the carpet for so long, and Kelly should be prepared for all the consequences he has dodged for the past 20 years. These girls are included in the #MeToo movement, and their accusations should be taken seriously in order to decrease this issue of sexual harassment and abuse and let it be known that the price to pay is large.
Hailey Barrow (Tallahassee, Fl)
It's not right that R. Kelly has gotten away with all of these allegations and no one has done anything about. It's sad to think that a person can get away with this just because he is a popular figure in the public eyes. I think art can not be separated from an artist. Most artist write songs about something relating to their life or something that has affected them in their life, meaning that his music represents him. You can't separate someone from their work, it is their work. This article definitely made me think differently about the music we listen to and who is producing it and what they represent as an individual. The music industry holds some responsibility for not holding R. Kelly accountable because by not saying or doing anything you're not saying it's right or wrong. I think streaming services and people who have collaborated with him in the past should seriously think about if they want to promote that kind of behavior through their service or their music. It's hard for someone to give up someone or something they've loved for so long and believed in, but I think they should try and find some else to like. It's not right to defend R. Kelly when there have been so many allegations towards him and there was even a tv show about it. I think it's so unfair and sad that people don't believe these girls for so many years and only believe them when some guy has produced a show about it. It's unfair, everyone should have an equal voice and be able to be heard.
Maya Rhoads (FL)
Although I didn't watch the documentary series, form what I heard I think it was a great benefit in the sense that it brought light to accusations that should have been brought up years ago. On the other hand, everyone is innocent until proven guilty, and R.Kelly hasn't been proven guilty in a court of law. Personally, I think he probably did all of the things he was accused of because there are many people speaking against him. But in the very small chance that he IS innocent, the makers of this documentary have ruined his career and life. Also, as for his music goes, I think that is up to individuals to decide if they would like to continue listening to his music. If artists that collaborated with him or streaming services want to take his music down, I can absolutely understand that. In the real world if someone was accused of this they would most likely lose their job. If you want to listen, that's your decision, and if not, then don't. But as for me, I probably won't listen to his music again.
Jayden (Tallahassee)
The claims and acquisitions of R. Kelly have brought turmoil throughout the nation. I understand helping young women to boost their singing career, but I would never have a sexual relationship with them just for the fun of it. Even though (Robert) Kelly was sexually abused when he was little doesn't mean he can take his intentions out on young, black females. But somehow, he gets away with it by using his music to lure others attention to his singing career rather than his allegations. Many artist, like Lady Gaga, John Legend and Chance the Rapper were ashamed to even collaborate with Kelly in the midst of his allegations. According to the recently release of the six-part documentary "Surviving R. Kelly", Kelly was involved child pornography and child enslavement (according to what the parents said in the documentary). With his fans and supporters stating that he is innocent, it would be too late now to do anything, now that Kelly has damaged with women's lives. To boycott this, people have invaded concerts with rallies and protest, radio stations vow to never play his songs again, and movements have taken place in order to prevent the musician from causing more harm to many others. But no matter how hard they try, he always finds a way to get what he wants.
Janiyah G (Florida)
It's no surprise that many R. Kelly supporters refuse to place him in the wrong of what many women have claimed against him. In the court, individuals do have a innocent until proven guilty stance, but does the allegations of multiple women not prove him guilty? Is their word not enough? The remaining support of R. Kelly even with evidence, such as video footage show disrespect for the women who have come forth. There is also no surprise that these black women who've had enough bravery to come forth are perceived as liars and being money hungry. Malcolm X once said "The most disrespected person in America is the black woman. The most unprotected person in America is the black woman. The most neglected person in America is the black woman". All of this seemingly to be true by the lack of support we give towards these women who spoke out against R. Kelly. Even rapper, Chance The Rapper admitting he continued to do a song with Kelly even with allegations, because those statements were made by black women. Separating the the artist from the allegations. Ever since I was younger I've listened to R. Kelly, when these allegations had come out and the documented series, I was distraught. I couldn't believe a man I'd been listening to since I was younger had been accused of doing such things. I choose to no longer listen to him because I refuse to disrespect the women who've come forward with these allegations.
Mike Mahoney (MA)
It is not fair that R. Kelly has gotten away with this for so long. The music industry should absolutely be responsible for holding him for his actions. Commonly, when somebody is famous, they are able to use that as a free pass to do anything they want. It’s completely injust when an artist is completely breaking the law and gets off with no consequences. The music industry needs to make sure that R. Kelly pays for what he has done. I do not think that streaming services should be obligated to remove his music from their sites, but I feel that they definitely do not need to continue promoting it. I believe that every person deserves to have the choice of if they listen to him or not. It is not fair to tell the general public that they cannot listen to his songs. It is also not fair to tell streaming services that they can’t make money off of his songs. It is only fair that everyone is given the choice for themselves. I think that R. Kelly deserves to be put away for a long time, but the general public should not be punished by having his music taken away.
Fred Marks (Massachusetts)
Innocent until proven guilty. All of the accusations levied against R.Kelly have never been proven true in court. So it is unreasonable to think that people should boycott his music. However, if he is found guilty, then I believe that it would absolutely be valid to boycott this monster's music. It is a touchy subject however, as there are multiple allegations against him. So I could see why people are quick to decide that he is guilty. Yet seeing that nothing has ever been proven I could see how people feel that he is innocent. Regardless of any convictions, R.Kelly's name has forever been slandered and his career will never be the same.
Aliyah Chasten (Hoggard, Wilmington,NC)
The singer R.Kelly is a well known R&B artist that is a legend for his music that he wrote. All thought his music was iconic his actions in the world were not valuable. In his career allegations came out of him having relations with young girls. R.Kelly was so admired that his fans were in denial and just let the bad things that he had done slide. He had sexual intercoure with many young girls and felt that it was ok. He controlled the girls and manipulated them to believe that he loved them even though he used them for pleasure. The question is seen as can you separate his music from R.Kelly himself. I believe you can separate him from his music to a certain extent. Songs that I like by him are called intuition,I believe I can fly, and bump n’ grind. Listening to the song I love the art that he created but knowing that these songs were about the intercourses with under aged girls make me not respect him the same way. After watching the documentary it makes me aware and more about everything he did. From abuse to sextapees he was not innocent. R.kelly was an amazing artist but it does not overlook how he used his money and power over the victims that he traumatized. He should be shamed for the harm he did to innocent black woman that were minors. Accepting that he ruined many young girls lives.
Mariah (MN)
@Aliyah Chasten I definitely agree with you. R.Kelly is very well known for his music and fame. He has made good music throughout the years of his career, although what he has done is definitely wrong and it has made me look at him in a different way. I do not think that it is fair that the media has been sweeping his alleged accusations under the rug. I feel like the fan base that he had/has until this day is whats stopping the court from punishing him because still to this day not enough people will come forward to testify against him. I also watched the documentary and i do feel like all of the stories were true some may have been exaggerated but that still doesn't face the fact that he has done wrong. However I do think that his music should be separated from the monster that he is which is Robert Kelly as they said in the documentary, however R.Kelly the artist will not be stopped. In fact he just recently had a sold out concert and i still going publicly around with one of the girls from the documentary. So the question is should he have some type of consequence? Yes, because not only are they're rumors anymore but the rumors are true, but he will only be giving consequences if he is testified against.
Jalen Davis (Sarah E. Goode )
What is thought about the article is that it shows us what having money and power can do to people in a negative way. I also got an understanding of why people always saw R Kelly as a terrible person and how he was able to just hide from the laws due to his power and chram over those who still supported him. This really opened my eyes to see some of the things that the law has to work in controlling the law and how we need to come together to put a stop to this type of thing.
Ezra (Lombardi)
From Bill Cosby to Mike Vick to now R Kelly, the question remains: can you still support a person's work, but not the person themselves? Obviously this will differ on a case to case basis, but it is an interesting question that seems to offer polarizing viewpoints. On one hand, it can feel wrong to enjoy the music/comedy/athletic display knowing that it was created by a bad person. But some argue that the art can be separated from the artist and enjoyed without the support of that person. However this outlook begs the question, does your consumption of this art help to benefit this person in anyway? When you go back and watch Bill Cosby's comedy on YouTube, Bill Cosby does not benefit from whether you laugh or not. When you watch Mike Vick highlights, Mike Vick does not profit. But if you take the time to listen to an R Kelly song, that is money into the pocket of a monster. It is not reasonable to expect everyone to avoid his music, and those who fight for that are wasting their time. R Kelly has released great music and he is an incredibly talented musical mind, so to forget his songs is impossible. Rather, we should be sure to continue to spread the truth about R Kelly and anyone else who committed similar crimes and make sure that they will be forever remembered for their horrific actions before anything else.
Julisa Aguilar (Chicago)
Even if not accused guilty Robert Kelly has plenty coming for him. Allegations like that should be and for the most part are taken seriously regardless the race of the victim or the accused. Although I personally do not agree with this, it is to be expected that he is taken off record labels and his music is limited or removed from streaming services. This may seem harsh to the fans of his music but shouldn’t the consequences be the same as someone who isn’t well known? His consequences shouldn’t be disregarded or minimized because of his fame. If a person who isn’t famous in the real world is accused of such things their job is immediately taken. So it would be reasonable to assume or suggest that his music is limited to streaming services at the very minimum.
Heaven (Chicago )
I have watched every part of the documentary.I have never been a R.Kelly fan. This has affected me lot because I can’t even listen to one of R.Kelly songs without think if the song is about a young lady. Most of the things in this article i already ‘know because i watched the whole series so i know everything that happened so it’s not surprise.I think yes and no yes because when i watched the documentary the girls said that R.kelly is that fun one and Robert Kelly is the devil no because if you think about the songs that he wrote are probably about young girls. I feel like Spotify should have to stop making money just because of R.Kelly’s poor decision.
Isabel Li (Temple City, CA)
This seems to be a very controversial situation. I feel that this has happened to many artists before, giving a poor reputation to their names and their works. However, this does necessarily mean that art cannot be separated with an artist. Sometimes, a work of art is popular for a certain reason, like the melody, the lyrics, etc. But even though a person may enjoy a work of art by someone with sexual allegations, it does not necessarily mean that he or she agrees with the artist entirely. The music industry, in my opinion, should just remain the same. This has happens to countless artists, and their personal lives should be separate from their works. It would not be fair to the artist to have his or her music removed; in fact, a work of art should never be treated that way. Think about famous classical composers like Bach, who married his own cousin. This is an action many today would not approve of, yet his art lives on. Individuals should remain open-minded. Remember, you enjoy a piece of music for the elements in the music and why the artist decided to create the piece of art. A sexual allegation might affect your viewpoints about the artist, but the art still remains the same.
MaxStar (fort wayne indiana)
R.Kelly is innnocent dem girls knoe wat dey want dats y dey go to him its not like he stalking or rapin dem dey are wanting him by demsleves (and for u ignorant minded people who love to grammar check i type like diss on purpose) have a nice day;)
Makayla Quintanilla (Sarah E. Goode STEM Academy)
Personally I am not sure how to feel about R. Kelly because the sexual allegations are with girls underage and he knew that it was illegal to have sex with these girls, but then again the girls could have given consent because he is famous and they feel special to be with a famous guy. But at the end of the day he is still a 52 year old man who had sex with underage teenage girls. I also believe that Lady Gaga and Chance the rapper shouldn’t have apologized for collaborating with R. Kelly because at the time they didn’t know what was happening.
Melissa Ortega (Sarah E Goode Stem Academy)
I feel like art can’t be separated from an artist. In R. Kelly’s situation he has had multiple sexual allegation with very young girls, and if you still listen to his music and buy his albums and all that continuing to support him it shows that you don’t see anything wrong with what he did. It also is showing R. Kelly that he can do anything and get away with it still doing good and making money as if nothing happened. The article makes me still think the same because it just proves that no one really cares and they aren't doing much to make him pay for what he did and help the girls out.
Natrice Bobo (Sarah E. Goode)
I knew when I read this article there would be mixed opinions about this situation. In my opinion we don’t know if all of these accusations are true. People are talking about boycotting his music and stop supporting him in all. I don’t think we should boycott his music because some of them have meaning to people. People rely on his music for support, many people use his songs as motivation when they don’t have any. I believe that everyone who was in these situation were at fault. R.Kelly had no business messing with kids who are under the age of 18. The females he were messing around with is at fault too because most of their mindset was that if he has money and he’s someone famous with a good reputation, so why not try to be with him. Also, they are at fault too because you know how old R.Kelly is and you know what your age is, so why mess around with somebody twice your age if you did not want anything from it . Now I see if any of these girls really didn’t want nothing to do with him and they still got molested or abused by him then that’s understanding. Also, if parents knew about all of these problems with him and their daughter why didn’t they do anything? They could have filed police reports or confront the situation themselves.
Jeanette Valdivia (Sarah E Goode STEM Academy )
I think R.Kellyś situation is a very complicated problem and a lot of people have several opinions about it but what I think is that no matter what whether or not what he's accused of is actually true there will still be people who would listen and support his work. If he actually sexually abused these girls then its all his fault, he was the grownup in the situation and he knew what he was doing even if the girls gave consent the whole situation was a bad idea. I know that R.Kelly won't actually be affected by any of this because that's how our society works we forgive people or we don't punish people enough when we actually should if we know for a fact that what they did is wrong. I for one think R.Kelly should be punished for what he did if it turns out to be true.
Yulissa Bustos (Chicago)
The article made me shocked because this is a grown man commiting these horrible acts. What makes me upset from the article is that the women said that more people would care if they were right and that's true. It's sad that people are given more importance when they're more light skin.
Alexander Arellano (School)
After learning more about the R.Kelly case I believe that they shouldn't blame everything on R.Kelly. I say that because I feel like everyone who was involved should be under investigation, so they can receive the same attention as R.Kelly.Also, I wanted to add is that they shouldn't take his music off radios because once upon a time his music was inspiring to people back then and now.
Alisa Rodriguez (Chicago, IL)
I think R. Kelly deserves to go to jail. It doesn't matter how long it has been since the said allegations have been made what he did is still wrong and he needs to be punished for what he did. If you support R.Kelly's music then you support what he did even if it was a long time ago. By supporting him in anything then that means you support him as a person. As a person he's a pedophille .
Danita F (Sarah E. Goode STEM Academy)
I feel like R.Kelly sexual abuse situation with the teenage girls shouldn't affect his music. People should still be able to listen to his music and his music should still be able to be played at public places without people having a negative response to it. I also feel that the teenage girls that were with him knew what they were doing because you're old enough to know and if they didn't they could've told their parents and something would have been done about it and the situation wouldn't have taken off the way it did.

R Kelly should know better at the end of the day and so should the girls. However, I believe radios shouldn't stop playing his music because his music should not be taking a hit because of his personal life. I understand why radio stations made the decision but I disagree. I still will listen to his music because its good however respecting him as a person a no go.

I think people should no longer support R Kelly. Not only did he sexually abuse girls, but all these girls were teenagers. Where were the girl's parents? Did they know what their daughters were doing? Also, his Spotify listens have gone up since the documentary was released, which is crazy! By listening to R Kelly you are supporting him. By supporting him you are giving him more money, which he uses to pay underage girls to have sex with him.

I feel like R.Kelly was wrong for what he did because he knew them girls was too young for him. I also think them young girls knew what they was doing a famous man trying to talk to them they're going to talk to him. they knew he was too old and he knew they was too young. I think his music should still be played because that have nothing to do with his music.

I think that the R kelly situation, he is at fault and the people who let it happen are at fault he should never have used his fame to do what he did. R Kelly was older and the girls were underage and should never be done. The girls should have never accepted even if he was famous, he could have ruined their lives because he would take responsibility for his actions.

I believe R.Kelly is most definitely wrong about sexually abusing younger females, but I don’t think they should take his music away from him. His music wasn't illegal, his actions on having sex with females under the age of 18 is what is illegal which means he should only be punished for that. I believe it don't matter what the race of the females they were, he still is wrong and should get the same treatment.
Anthony S. (Sarah E. Goode )
R. Kelly should be punished in some way because he committed an obvious crime. Never been an R. Kelly fan because he has been irrelevant to me. His music still should be on platforms because, why would the platform remove his music, that’s just a loss of money. You can’t separate an artist from their work because when you say their name you also think of what they did, Bill Cosby. Other artists can criticize him if they want, they don’t have to their not obligated to. People should still be able to listen to his music because they can, its like say “oh you watch movies with Kevin Spacey” that just doesn’t mean anything, the fan doesn’t care there isn’t a law against it.

Hearing the recent allegations against R. Kelly and the responses which follow eerily mirror the world we are living in. A world too many times masked by money, 'sex' and rock n roll. A world which prevents perpetrators from ever being brought to justice. Hence, should Kelly be allowed to continue on with his career and future music endeavors, it would not only be the greatest slap in the face but it would prevent those who are broken to suffer even longer. Now let's think. What if these faceless victims were your loved ones?

I think R.Kelly’s sexual abuse allegations should not be supported by individuals and the music industry. Therefore I feel as if his music should not be displayed because as long as people continue listening to his music, he will be supported in someway, he will still be earning money and his career will still be existent. His fame should not cover his horrible actions.

I feel like R. kelly is a very wrong because those girls are to young to be sexual abused. I also feel like those adults who knew about R.kelly touching those girls were also in fault.

So this whole situation is a mess. In my own opinion if people likes his music they should be allowed to listen to it. R.Kelly is wrong but until proven guilty his music should still be listened to. I think his music shouldn’t be in the same category as his actions. My only true question are where were the mothers or fathers in some of this situations? Did they know them self what their daughter were doing? Did they let their daughters get molested or abused by R.Kelly and now feel guilty?

My response to the R.Kelly situation is i feel that everyone that was involved in the situation is at fault. Even the people that are accusing R.Kelly because they allowed these things to happen to them and the people around R.Kelly were probably aware of this situation to. And instead of the parents and children reporting R.Kelly at the moment they decided to accept the money and accept what was happening at the time.

What I have to say about this situation is that I would say that everyone that is involved placed their self in this situation. The girls all kept saying, “I mean he’s R Kelly why wouldn’t I do what he’s telling me to do” but, what do you mean who cares if he is R Kelly you’re forgetting the fact that you are too young for him and he’s too old for you. Then there was one girl parents who allowed him to pay them and allowed their daughter to continue seeing him, I blame that on them too. But, all of a sudden when the money stop you wanna tell your story wow!
