Articles like this that portray trump as capable of understanding, much less of carrying out a coherent, strategic foreign policy are misleading at best.

A rocket man and a space cadet. What could possibly go wrong? Well, planet Earth, it's been a nice ride.

Mr Moon, along with Mr Kim, is doing yeoman work to bring about a fundamental change in the situation on the Korean peninsual, which represents a clear and present danger to all its inhabitants, and to all who live in East Asia and, indeed, the whole world. As mentioned in the Panmunjom Declaration of 27 April 2018 issued by the leaders of the two Koreas, this includes «the common goal of realising, through complete denuclearisation, a nuclear-free Korean Peninsula», i e, the denuclearisation of the whole of the peninsula, both that north and that south of the DMZ, not, as some statements issued by US government officials would seem to indicate, the denuclearisation only of the peninusula's northern half.... Let us hope that the US will take this opportunity to contribute to the diminishing of tensions in this vital region, perhaps by signing a declaration to the effect that the war in Korea, which has been paused by an armistice since 27 July 1953, is now over and agreeing to enter into substantive negotiations to replace that armistice with a treaty of peace. For the rest, if the US could just get out of the way and let Messrs Kim and Moon get on with their great work, it would make an immeasurable contribution to the cause of world peace.... Henri

Kim Jong-un's second meeting with Trump is unnecessary. It cannot divert the US opinion from the criminal investigations into the Trumps' connections to the Russian spy networks.

There will be a summit and it will happen when POTUS hits a new crisis - a diversionary tactic at best.

Does this look even mildly like a win for Trump? I think not. When you seek advice from the leader of a country you declared economic war with, it does not bode well for any negotiations. However you can be sure Trump will meet with Kim Jong-un and will tell us all that he solved whatever problem he declared was a problem.

Trump tried to play this like a business deal, but instead of squeezing concessions he predictably offended the other side and the train ground to a halt. If and when he needs a PR splash he will make the necessary overtures. It’s not about leadership, it’s just a card he knows he can play for headlines.

Ok I read the first few paragraphs and that was all I need to see. If anyone and I mean anyone believes that Kim Jong un is going to simply give up his nuclear capability I got a bridge in Ohio for sale cheap! They can meet ,dance hold ,hands and kiss but it all means nothing but Kim is playing Trump for the fool he is. And the whole world is his witness.
