Superstitions for me are a symptom of nervousness typical of people who have little confidence in their abilities. If you fully trust on you are doing you may have superstitions what are you doing every time but they become habits of your life because the result of your actuation not depend if you are going to do a good or bad role of this superstitons. In conclusion for me the superstitions can be an important part of your ritual prior to an important appointment but they never should never distract to get your objective, can be a help but never a need.

I’m not very superstitious I can’t think of any superstitions that I believe except for one. I remembered before going on my trip to Hawaii that I got a warning from my teacher who used to live in Hawaii not to take anything from nature away from Hawaii and bring it to Florida. She said if I did this something bad could happen to me. She told me the story of her mother in law who brought black sand from Hawaii to Pennsylvania and on her way back from the airport she got hit by a car. I believed this because this was coming from an actual person who lived in Hawaii and not some random online article. This influenced me not take anything from nature from Hawaii because I didn’t want bad luck. Looking back I could see how this was made up just to protect Hawaii’s ecosystem from tourists who would take jars of sand back to their country. But to this day I will never take anything apart of nature from Hawaii.

As a high school athlete I do have some superstitions. Every night before one of my races in track or cross country I go to the same restaurant and order the exact same meal every time, cheese tortellini in an alfredo sauce. It has to be that meal, nothing else. Although this is most likely coincidental, almost every race I ran in without eating the tortellini ended up being a bad one, but every good race came the day after the tortellini. It works for me, even if it's just a pattern I'm more used to doing mentally, it works. Another one I have, which I think most athletes of any age could agree on, is listening to music to get me really motivated. Not just do these pumped up beats and motivational lyrics makes me feel ready to crush the competition before the race, certain lyrics stay in my head and help push me through when I'm hurting most in the race. So yes, I am superstitious, but what I have going on works for me and it always has. So why shouldn't I be a bit superstitious?

superstitions are the basis of our very existence. human beings thrive on superstitions. these superstition are not only limited to certain obsessive and compulsive behaviours but in the absolute presence of the SUPERNATURAL.And while concerning the superstitional behaviour we can proudly say they are the very roots of the development of each and every culture around the globe because what does superstition mean but the presence of certain beliefs that come pounding on our doorsteps very much like the next impending plague. yes, i am guilty...who isn't? this morning itself..when i left my home i packed my bag and left for school to attend an examination. why, i am bound to superstitions. my mum prayed and my dad prayed and blowed on my head. that was supposed to make me feel better. i took an old cardboard with me tagging it as my lucky cardboard. I, a person who understands how it is is also vulnerable to such superstitions.what iam trying to say that is that superstitions are widespread and indeed crosses all the walls of rationality you build around yourself. still it provide us with hope in the darkest of times and allows us to believe in that miracle we all expect every now and then leaving behind all the rationality, reality and expectations we hold

I have a couple of superstitions when it comes to sports. I believe they can be a good thing to better motivate players for games or competitions. Back when I used to compete in mogul skiing, if I had the number 8 in my bib, I knew I was going to place well. For volleyball games, I do chaturanga before the game, and after every time out, I will stretch my arms. The first one gets me calm and in the right mind space. The second, I believe, helps us get the next point.

I have a lot of different superstitions for all sorts of events. Unfortunatly for most of my superstition I to trick myself that I'm not going to well and tell myself what the worst situation is, then later I start to believe the worst will happen so if the best happens I'll be more surprised of less upset with the worst. That one unfortunatly is a bad habit of mine that I should probably stop. Another thing I do is before a cross-country race I listen to "Champion by Carrie Underwood" to prepare myself to win. Another thing I've done more recently is when after I'm done with my auditions for Dance, Drama Club, Ext. I try and preform it over and over again at home to boost my self confidence on my preformance and prevent me from thinking of failure.

I’m not superstitious. I don’t believe in any of that. I think some things people do for their superstitions are a waist of money and time. I think that everyone’s superstitions will never help they just think it will.

I have one huge superstition before wrestling and that is when I take the mat If I can put on an anklet I would take it from the mat to the other side and put it on turn away from my opponent hype myself up, jump around and get exited and warm. If there is no anklet I go to MY side of the mat and jump around and get exited and warm. This to me was my way of showing intimidation, no fear and I always won when I did this. I do believe in good luck charms but not like a rabbits foot or a four leaf clover or the 11:11 on the clock, mine is a different one. My lucky charm is a white gold chain that my dad passed down to me and I always wear it during any game Soccer, Wrestling until the match starts so it doesn't brake and baseball.
