After "The Valley of Astonishment," which I found extremely thin and dull, I stopped trying to convince myself that Peter Brooks' work is interesting and stopped getting tickets to his plays, which I used to attend out of respect for his reputation. I feel like a philistine, but honestly, I haven't enjoyed his pieces for years and years.

Saw this production at the Yale Rep before it moved over. Irresponsible theater and generally pointless. Started looking at my watch 15 minutes in - not worth anyone's time.

Regarding The Prisoner, a great section by Brantley near the end referring to patricide and hate. The prisoner is now to expunge those feelings. The Times is a hoot. Thanksmfor a good laugh.
