I love Christmas so much because of the emphasis on family and friends. Most of the time, my family is really busy. My dad has work, my younger brother has his soccer games, and I have my bucketloads of school work. As a result, even on weekends, we do not get much time to do anything together, other than maybe watching a movie. However, on Christmas, that all changes. On Christmas, we get to spend time together as a family. Another thing I enjoy about Christmas is being able to meet with old friends. Some of my friends live very far away, and we rarely get to see each other, except on Christmas. So Christmas is a time to catch up with them and spend time with them, until we meet again next year.

My family is weird when it comes to Christmas. the past 3 years we haven't really had time to celebrate it as a family. so this year I don't really expect too much. my favorite thing about the holiday is being able to relax and see family I haven't seen in forever. I don't like doing the same thing as everybody else when it comes to traditions, because I feel like everyone should have their own way of celebrating it.

The main reason that makes this season so special is the emphasis on family. During the holiday season, most people make an extra effort to show their affection to those who they care about. It can also be a time to visit relatives or friends that you do not see all the time. These things together create a very exciting I can’t exactly lie on a post about the holidays now can I? But, I will say that if there are any traditions where you get more food than usual Then, I’d be ecstatic and completely down for some extra meals.time that people can look forward to all year. Also, during Christmas, my family and many others take some time to reflect on the things that are important to us and why we are grateful.

My family and I will only celebrate Christmas this year because we have never really done any others. The holidays are always so fun with having a break and getting to see all of your family. Having dinner, or multiple house in one week and giving others gifts we have been keeping a secret from. Plus all the shopping and Secret Santa is so fun drawing names. In my family as a tradition we always have three Christmas dinners on with each side of the family and the day of Christmas we eat as a family.

My family is just celebrating Christmas this month. We don't celebrate any other holiday because we've only celebrated Christmas. What I enjoy doing with my family this time of year is going Christmas shopping. We also get together with our grandparents and cousins to celebrate the holidays. Some traditions we have is going to my grandams every year and having a big dinner. We also get to open lots of presents. Christmas is my favorite holiday because we get to spend time with our family and open up lots of fun presents.

In December I celebrate Christmas with my family. We meet up with other family members a couple times to spend our christmas together. My favorite things we observe this time of year is the christmas lights. Going to MIS and look at the thousands of lights they have set up more miles. I kind of wish we went to Christmas parades.

I celebrate Christmas. The best part about the holidays are seeing family that I haven't seen in awhile, putting up the tree, and no school. There isn't really anything else I wished my family participated in because I am happy with what I have now.

During this time of year, like a lot of people around our area, we celebrate christmas. This is definitely one of my favorite holidays due to the fact that I can eat bad with it being ok and I get to see my family. I love making food and celebrating at christmas parties with my family because we share memories and laugh until we practically start crying. Some of the best moments are when we do white christmas where we wrap bad gifts and people pick them out and everybody laughs at what they get because it’s dumb or really funny. I really look forward to having our christmas parties because of those moments.

I celebrate Christmas always have always will it is my favorite holiday ever period. We go all out on our christmas decorations we are that house on the block that has so many lights that people come out of their way to drive past it. Our lights are like the ones you see on tv that go with the music and change colors. The whole house is lit up and we have a back lot that is a winter wonderland walk through. We also have the inside that is even more decorated, we have a 12 foot christmas tree and 4 eight foot christmas trees all a different theme. Christmas is my favorite holiday because I love the lights and the magical feeling of the holiday. I love how it is a time of the year where people give back to their community and come together for a common cause.

The only holiday I am celebrating this month is Christmas. I don't believe in anything so my family doesn't do anything else besides Christmas. Celebrating Christmas is a tradition in my family nothing else. I don't really think of anything besides Christmas for December.

I am celebrating Christmas this month on December 25th. My favorite things about Christmas is the time you get to spend with your family. We get to see both sides of my family it's such a good time. I also enjoy all the food i get to eat there is so much everyday. Presents are very fun to open I get lots of cool things every year. Overall it’s just a great time of year that I get to hangout and eat food with all the people I love.

I am celebrating Christmas this time of month that's the only holiday I celebrating this time of month. I love Christmas because it's so joyful and the presents are nice, but I love the music and all the lights and decorations but decorating the Christmas tree is my favorite.

After viewing the picture prompt, "Holiday Season" I celebrate Christmas. My favorite part is spending time and joy with my family. However, the holidays are great and all, but one of my least favorite parts is seeing other in need. In conclusion, I feel like Christmas is a time of giving not just receiving.

This month I am celebrating Christmas. My favorite this about this holiday is seeing my family and the beginning of a new year. I like the food that we make and the presents we receive. I wish my family celebrated Valentine's day. I like Valentines day because of the candy, and my family doesn't celebrate so I miss out on love and candy.

The holiday I am celebrating this month is going to be Christmas. My favorite thing about this holiday is getting all my family together because we always laugh when we are together. I love seeing all the Christmas lights, at people's houses and at MIS. I wish that we always watched a Christmas movie, especially when new ones come out. I also wish that we gave some type of presents to the homeless, sometimes we do but not always.

This winter we are only celebrating Christmas. One of our traditions is on Christmas eve we open the smallest gift under the tree and we give my parents their gifts to open. My favorite thing about this holiday is seeing family I don't get to very often. We have a huge family Christmas party and eat a lot of food and go into Frankenmuth.
Chloe Comet (Hanover, MI)
This year I am celebrating Christmas with my family. We are not very religious so we don't celebrate the religious aspect of it, just the modern version of it. Every year we decorate our house with way too many decorations and bake way too many cookies. On every Christmas eve I sleep in my sisters room so we wake up at the same time to go open our presents. Then after we open presents my mom makes cinnamon rolls for all the kids. This will also be the first Christmas in 5 years that all my brothers are here for since my oldest brother is home from Tennessee.

This is my favorite time of the year. We recently just got done with Thanksgiving and my family gets together at our church and we have a dinner there. Where we all sit together talk and catch up after not seeing one another for at least a couple months. Now this month is Christmas and this is one of my favorite holidays, I love how beautiful Christmas is. I love that I get together with my family have a dinner at my aunt's house, and feel very blessed and thankful to see another year with my amazing family. But also this time of year is the hardest when you have lost loved ones. Also shortly after Christmas is New Years and that always excites me because a new year full of new chances and journeys. This time of the year is full of happiness and realizing what you are blessed with.
Ashlin Comet (Hanover-Horton )
My family celebrates Christmas during December. My favorite thing about the holiday is getting and giving presents. We have slight traditions, we go to the same paraids every year and do family party's for both sides on the same day every year. I don't really like Christmas that much so there aren't many things I wish my family did, I am happy with the way things are.
Abby Comet (Horton)
This month I am only celebrating one holiday and that is Christmas. My favorite thing about the holiday my family and I observe is that everyone tends to be in a better mood but also seems to be stressed. Since it's close to Christmas people are giving back to each other and are being more kind. There are no other traditions that other families or communities that take part in that I wish I could participate in also.
Sophia Jourdan (Orlando)
The only holiday I will be celebrating this month is Christmas. One of my favorite traditions to do a couple of weeks before Christmas is to decorate the Christmas tree. I also like to spend time with my family and watch Christmas movies with each other around this time. Although I enjoy celebrating Christmas one holiday tradition that I wish I too participate in is Kwanzaa. Kwanzaa is a cultural holiday that celebrates African heritage and identity. It begins on December 26th and lasts until January 1st. Kwanzaa was created during a time of social uprisings against racism and was to re-establish community and to enlighten African Americans of their African culture. The reason I would like to participate in Kwanzaa is that I believe that it could potentially strengthen the bonds of my family and community. And it would also be a good way for me to connect and learn more about my African heritage.

The holiday that me and my family celebrate this month is Christmas. My family's favorite thing about this holiday is being together as a family eating and sharing presents with each other. What my family mostly like is seeing the reaction of the kids opening their presents and how excited they are after. A few Christmases ago when I was like 10 years old. My family was reunited together and it came to the point where it was time to open the presents. Under the Christmas tree there was a present for one of the little kids in the family. The present was a game that the kid really wanted. When he opened the present he was so shocked because he didn’t know that he would be getting a game that he really wanted. It gave me joy seeing the excitement in his eyes of getting his present.

I am celebrating Christmas this year with my family. I spend Christmas with my mom (Jill), dad(Ted), sister(Blake), and brother (Hunter). They are so important to me. It's not Christmas without them. For about 5 years we have been going up to New Hampshire and skiing for Christmas. It's a tradition now and has been for 5 years. My cousins also join us. My Aunt, Uncle, and my two girl cousins who are 19 and 21. On Christmas day we gather by the fire in the morning and open presents. Then once were done with that we go for a few runs down the mountain. For Christmas dinner we go out to an old restaurant that is well known in the place we stay and have a jolly time.

This year I am celebrating Christmas. In my family we have a big get together with my mom, grandma, grandpa, and my grandpas family. Every year we have a big meal of either turkey or ham or even both. Instead of just exchanging gifts, we do Yankee Swap, where you pick a number and in that order you pick from random gifts that everyone has contributed to. The fun part is that you can trade your unopened present for someone’s that opened theirs before you. My favorite time was when I got number one and chose the perfect gift for myself; a book I really wanted and lots of hot chocolate. I love my families traditions, but I’d love to incorporate things from other religions too. I don’t know too many other traditions but I’m very interested in pagan things and would love to incorporate something from Yule. This year I’m not sure if I’m going to the extended families because of drama, but even just opening presents with my mom and grandparents would be amazing. The holidays are all about spending time with family and I can’t wait to spend time with mine (the presents are bonus though).

This holiday season I am celebrating is Christmas. My family and I typically celebrate Christmas a little different than others since we are British and live on a farm. When we wake up on Christmas we must feed our horses and then come inside and eat ourselves. Then we opened the presents or cards in our stockings. After that we don’t opened presents instead we all have some quiet time instead. Then after lunch we open our presents together. For dinner we have turkey instead of ham. We also have party crackers at dinner. These crackers are made out of paper and is roughly shaped like a hard candy. They contain a little bit of gunpowder and two people pull on the ends. When side will snap off with a bang and the other person will have a paper capsule containing a colored paper crown, a joke, and a small toy. After our dinner we all with watch a movie (typically Harry Potter) or pay a board game. Our Christmas are alike many others but is spiced up with some British tradition.

This year I am celebrating Christmas. Christmas is my runner up holiday because Halloween is better, yet I still enjoy Christmas. I like this holiday because I get to spend lot of time with my close family including my cousins, uncle and grandparents. I think the best part of Christmas is decorating for christmas because it’s a lot less stressful than actually having to socialize with your family. I really enjoy putting up my Christmas tree and decorating it with all the old ornaments we have. Many of the ornaments we decorate with are from my moms childhood and the pillsbury doughboy ornaments because my mom used to collect them. I also really like putting up christmas lights because it gives my front yard a pretty glow. On the actually holiday we have a tradition of going to my moms moms house for christmas eve, and my dads moms house for christmas dinner. This has always been the way we celebrated Christmas. A Christmas tradition we have is eating together as a family every year. This is the time we all bond and argue over politics, but it is still fun. Christmas is definitely a fun holiday for my family.

I don’t really have a favorite holiday. In my family we celebrate Hanukkah and Christmas. The thing I like about Hanukkah is, that I get to celebrate the eight days of the candle lighting and play the games that come with lighting the menorah. For Hanukkah my family and I get together and give presents to each other and bond over the fact that we come together and still celebrate the eight days. We also put lights in our windows in my house and light them on the day that they are lit. I also celebrate Christmas. The thing that my family does for Christmas it that we go as a family to pick out our tree and depending on the day we either bring it home that day or we go and get it another day. Then when the tree is in our house we start to decorate our tree and our house. My family goes all out when it comes to Christmas. We are always the most decorated house on our street and block. We watch Christmas movies and when we are doing things around the house we almost always listen to Christmas music. Then when it is to Christmas day my family and I open our presents that we got and then all of our other family comes to my house, or we go to my grandparents house and open more presents there that we got for each other.

This month I am celebrating Christmas- Which, if I may is my favorite holiday along with Halloween for obvious reasons. ALthough, sometimes when we visit my family out of state in Maryland we have a few jewish family members and celebrate two different holidays at the same time! If, I had to choose between the food and the presents- It’d be the food every time! It’s such an obvious choice for me seeing as I eat whenever I get the chance- Plus, it helps that my grandmother makes the best christmas ham and my aunt makes the absolute best apple pie. I simply cannot help but imagine the sweet alluring aroma of apple pie fresh out of the oven as I drag myself out of bed just to get a sliver of the tarty delicacy. There’s nothing that I can recall at the top of my head that would be interesting to include in my family’s celebrations. So, I can’t exactly lie on a post about the holidays now can I? But, I will say that if there are any traditions where you get more food than usual- Then, I’d be ecstatic and completely down for some extra meals.

Bryan Rios Sarah Kristiansen English 7 December of 2018 What are your favorite things about the holidays you and your family observe this time of year? The things that are important to me about the holidays are how we all come together to celebrate who we are. It's not just about what we get or what we want for Christmas but, it’s about how we celebrate it. This Christmas I’m not having everything I want but, I’m grateful that I’m gonna celebrate this with people that I love. My dad has always being a huge influence and he is always taking time to do have dinner with me. He is there to drink that delicious hot chocolate with small marshmallows. The thing I love the most is how we all get to be grateful about everything that has happened this year. We also celebrate New Year in which is a time in where we think about what we have accomplished this year and making all of this worth it for next year. We love New Year and we all get to hang around with family members and friends that we have known for years. This is what I love about the holidays.

During the holiday season my favorite thing to do it decorating. I love to get my Christmas tree with my dad and put lights and ornaments with my family. I love to decorate my room and smell like pine trees. I love all things about Christmas and the season.

During the holiday season, my family and I celebrate Christmas. Christmas along with the holiday season in general is an important time to me for many reason. The main reason that makes this season so special is the emphasis on family. During the holiday season, most people make an extra effort to show their affection to those who they care about. It can also be a time to visit relatives or friends that you do not see all the time. These things together create a very exciting time that people can look forward to all year. Also, during Christmas, my family and many others take some time to reflect on the things that are important to us and why we are grateful. Taking this time to recognize what you are grateful for is an important part of the year and truthfully I believe it should be done more often. Regardless, it is surely a special time when millions across the globe can come together to appreciate all that they have and share that sentiment with the people they love the most. For me, Christmastime means family. My family takes great pride in the holiday and is sure to spread their joy and love to all in the family. It is always my favorite time of the year not because of the food or the presents, but the feelings it induces and the memories that you share with the people you love.

For me my holiday is Ramadan. It's not happening right now. It will eventually happen in May of 2019. In Ramadan we do not eat or drink until sunset. We do this for a month. We eat between sunset and sunrise. It's usually harder in the summer because days are longer and the heat. Winter is the opposite. I started when I was six, but only did it till noon. When I became eight, then I did all the way until sunset. It was hard when I started but easier after some years passed by.

After reading the picture prompt "Holiday Seasons", Christmas is my favorite holiday because I get piles of presents. The less greedy side to my attraction to Christmas is getting to see my family that is stretched across America and even on the other side of the the world. Obviously, they can't come visit but I still like to see my relatives that I don't get to visit often. In conclusion Christmas is my favorite time of year.
