I’m a retiree who lives very nearby the 15 screen AMC Kips Bay Theater. Viewing movies there, alongside other like-minded movie fans, is one of my favorite pastimes.
I feel cheated that Netflix is severely limiting the screening of its films in movie theaters. Any cinephile appreciates that the experience of viewing a movie on a large screen in a public theater is far superior to seeing it on television. It is more than worth the price of a ticket.
Given that the best American films are mostly released in November and December each year, it seems that we will now be deprived of that holiday pleasure. This is yet another disappointment brought on by corporate greed. I nominate Netflix as this year’s Grinch.
