High blood pressure: Hypertension could be autoimmune disease, study finds https://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-09-09/scientists-make-breakthrough-in-fight-against-hypertension/6760270 This is not surprising because many scientists view atherosclerosis as "inflammatory disease of artery". "This chronic inflammation may start early in life and be perpetuated by classic atherosclerosis risk factors. Lipid peroxidation of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) seems to be a key event in the initiation and progression of atherosclerosis. Oxidized LDL triggers inflammatory and immunogenic events that promote endothelial dysfunction and the synthesis and secretion of pro-inflammatory cytokines, leading to an 'autoimmune response' capable of accelerating the intracellular accumulation of lipids within atherosclerotic plaques." https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3984678/ We need to receive new tests such as (1) oxidized LDL test or (2) hs CRP test instead of conventional 'cholesterol-count test' in order to find out heart attack/stroke risk.

Many people are sensitive to number values like BP. My concern is that some young people will demand going on anti-hypertensive drugs despite the article's last quote: “There is no evidence that pharmacological treatment in people under 40 with elevated blood pressure is really beneficial." Many don't have time to follow good diets, exercise and stress reduction.
