The Oakland house sold on 11/20/18 for $1,350,000. It was listed for sale on 10/18/18 and escrow closed less than 30 days later. This is how fast houses can move in the SF Bay Area. Cray cray.
The Oakland house went into escrow 12 days after it got listed. The house will absolutely, 100% sell for over 1 million. Looking for/buying a house in the East Bay (of San Francisco Bay Area) is absolutely 100% NO fun.

A million dollar house an hour away from Detroit with ZERO indoor parking! Have you ever been there in the Winter?

Hands down the most fascinating Homes article in the Times to date.
I’d never have dreamed of using the word “malignant” for interior design, till seeing the kitchen in that Gothic manse. The Craftsman cottage has simply been body-snatched. And the forest structure evidently manifests the designer’s latent hylophobia in the form of the Sol LeWitt Memorial Penitentiary.

The last house is horrendous. The first house is creepy surrounded by nothing! The Oakland house is the best of the three

Re the 1913 Oakland cottage, I wonder what the woodwork and brick looks like under the coat of white paint. The cottage my grandfather built in the Sacramento Valley in 1916 has gorgeous woodwork.

The price comparison between the house near Detroit and the Oakland house are truly absurd but I rather live in the Oakland house than that creepy mansion no matter how grand.
