Pathetic. Oh for the good old days of Herblock and Oliphant.
Oasis
No Blue Wave, but a sweet breeze over a polluted ocean
No tsunami, but a graceful turning of the tide
Sloshy bucketfuls more than mere drops in the ocean
No thunderstorm, but more than pitter patter
The glass half full again
Saluti!

Thank you Mr. Chappatte for drawing Ted Cruz dwarfed by an enormous red cowboy hat. If there’s anybody who’s definitely “all hat, no cattle,” it’s Ted.

Good ones. Hit the nail on the head with the Caravan.

A Caravan of Democrats Heads to Washington!!! Yes, yes and it is filled with more horror for Trump than any 'scary foreigner' because it has subpoena power and the rule of law!

Great headline, beautiful cartoons, poignant captions. Thank you, Mr. Chappatte! The most enjoyable "read" today. Your sense of humor and your art restores my optimism on this hung-over Wednesday.

A Caravan of Democrats Heads to Washington
I love that title. And I love it that more women, more LQBTQ, and more people of color were elected.

Most incomprehensible outcome: Cruz elected for another term. My God, Texas. What is wrong with you??

@DMS Don't blame Texas cities - it's the small town and rural voters that kept Cruz in office.

"Subpoenas" - HA! And YES!

Just what we needed: A little levity!
Thanks.

Patrick Chappatte -- your work is too wonderful for words! You're a chip off the old HERBLOCK!

Please, please, please, New York Times. Give us more political cartoons. What a hoot to see these latest from Patrick Chappatte! The tradition is so worth reviving; pioneer it back.

@Cheesedogbacon
Hear! Hear! I second that motion.
Some like the old greats like "there otta be a law"
And there are some new great artists like Matt Wuerker, David Horsey and Rob Rogers. Check it out and lets keep our sense of humor and perspective.

Thank you. All salient pints, and not the usual ,'my side, their side' editorials, that fail to bring up actual policy. These sketches are more appropriate for posturing. Now maybe substantive wonky policy articles, that expose corruption, environmental degradation, corporate predation, and how to fix it.

A good point -- maybe the most consequential aspect of Democrats' wins is that Mueller's investigation is somewhat safer to proceed, and come to whatever end it will.
