Congo has huge deficits in health care, nutrition, ecology, good governance etc. Amazing how these scientists managed such a project despite chaotic civil war, corruption and displaced populations. This might not be the first priority for DRC, but it serves patients and medical progress. Great. I wish I could participate. @CK : what are you talking about ?

It would be fascinating to learn the back story of this sort of very esoteric intervention that, while certainly peppered with noble humanitarians, must be driven by money or ambition as are all costly endeavors larded with layers of careerists and government. That is, somewhere grants are given or fees billed, and some sort of capitalist manipulator, or government agent, or careerist thug, is skimming some amount of gain sufficient to grease the wheels of the project and without which the project would fail. Nuttin' for nuttin' as it is said. When they don't mention the money it's all about the money, etc. There's a hardcore insight to be had here, if only some journalist and editor had the interest to go after it.
