Great idea, and practical as well. Socks aren't likely to be tossed into the landfill as many other party favors are--since if you don't like them, you can always donate them to the local homeless shelter.

@anianiau I don't think homeless shelters accept used socks any more than they accept used underwear, but agree about less likely to be tossed in a landfill.

A good solution for the wedding and there are online hints to repurpose socks. I use orphaned socks for white board eraser and handy dust rag.
