I am so excited to see this. There are so few movies made about the experiences of some Americans. It is really patriotic to make a movie about voices of hidden Americans. God bless you.

Why are Liberals promoting hate? Liberals keep separating Americans into groups and promoting hatred between them. The goal seems to be to build an angry mob rather than a reasoned and cohesive country.

Rick I’m not sure I agree that liberals are “promoting hate” any more than conservatives are? (Let’s please not include Donald Trump because he seems an outlier, and it’s a distraction, OK? ) Do you recall the Beatles’ song ‘The End:’. “...and in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make...”? Seems to me the film is asking us all to reflect on our choices of love or hate, in thought-word-and deed, if you will. Asking us to honor the voices of black Americans. I’d say liberals are drawing attention to how hatreds persist in American society. We have to listen to those who feel themselves on the margin, uncomfortable as it is. Only with a fuller story told can we begin to work together on our responses.

@Rick I guess one could ask you why you apparently think people are being sorted into groups instead of simply living in ways that reflect their unique identities and being tired of having it ignored by so-called color-blind privileged folks?

@Rick What in the world are you talking about? This movie is overwhelming about love and love being stronger than hate.

I had the chance to see Ms. Thomas speak about her book last year. I'm looking forward to seeing the movie!
