magnum was listed as one of the only shows (of 6) who never jumped the shark. "have you seen the sunrise?" one of the best shows on TV. Real Vietnam echoes

@Elle Also, Higgins was an absolutely indispensable part of Magnum PI, and replacing him with a female just doesn't work.

@me I thought about it and remembered that the character, Thomas Magnum was a traumatized Vietnam vet whose father (also a navy officer) had when Thomas was a child. Higgins was an older man whose personality was very, very different from Magnum's, sometimes in a good way, and that was part of the dynamic of the show.
