I've had the pleasure of seeing Lizzo twice in small clubs in Detroit. Her music is pure positive power. Her thinking about complex issues--race, sexuality, body positivity, acceptance--is a much needed spiritual salve in the world of nihilist pop. Her translation of these ideas into ultra-accessible jammers that reach a wide audience is further testament to her talents (and her DJ, who is SUPREMELY dank). The world needs her now, and seeing her popularity grow so much in the last year has been a great pleasure. Get it, girl!

Lizzo’s performance on Samantha Bee’s show right after the election was amazing. I watched it over and over.

I think I'll steer clear, but I'm 100% positive I am not the demographic for this type of thing. Music is a weird thing, If I can like power metal and hope not to be ridiculed, then I wont judge people who like this.

She sounds great. I’ve got the belly too. But why is the author calling the Gucci sneakers boots? Am I missing something?

@Lisa What does this comment even mean? If this music isn't for you, then just move along. Feel-good Cardi B?? SMH.

How can our Society grow in the right direction teaching children values of right and wrong when singers and the music world are so messed up The future of our country unfortunately is in the minds of people who just don't see what kind of example they showing our youth our presidency music like this and Supreme Court nominations is it any wonder we are falling down to lowest point in life

@Barbara Halpern I'm trying to understand you but failing. I'm not familiar with the artist portrayed here but it sounds like a positive, love yourself kind of message though, no? Is this bad? Also I wouldn't compare a minor alternative music act with the Supreme Court. Very different power there.

Won't someone please think of the children????
