I thought this episode was very well-written. Kelli's scene at the end, where she and Tiffany have the talk about where their friendship goes from here, was very real. I've been there! The way the writers/director handled the "So, Lawrence, what have you been doing?" sequence was absolutely hilarious. I'm not a big Lawrence fan. He mopes and has all these hang-ups over Issa which are not healthy for either person. Still, it feels real. I like seeing Issa's enthusiasm. But I am very curious about Nathan...his ghosting....what's up with that? I wonder if the writers will let us find out soon, or if, as happens in real life, she just never knows. I think Molly's reaction to learning that Dro and Candace are expecting a baby was very real, very well-acted by Yvonne Orji. She has expectations of her own that she is still trying to unravel. Even Molly doesn't know what Molly truly wants or needs. She just thinks she knows.

That's not the end of Lawrence (who was looking very handsome). The fact he had ideas about Issa going into the event business was hopeful we'll see more of him. When his friends asked him if he could see ever going back with her and he replied "never" - that means its likely to happen eventually. I think Nathan has ghosted Issa and we may not know for awhile - if ever - what that was about. Great use of Kelli, who I frequently find tiresome. Given a choice to see more Issa, more Molly, more Lawrence and more Kelli, I'd always pick Kelli dead last. Molly's always superb. What a great actress Yvonne Orji is!

A Question about S3EP4. When Issa was giving Nathan a tour of the neighborhood. What was significance of the "King Kong" Remark?

@Uscdadnyc Its from the movie 'Training Day', which I think was supposed to be shot in that neighborhood.

@Uscdadnyc Denzel Washington said this line in Training Day. As stated, the movie was shot in part in the jungles... the neighborhood Issa gave Daniel a tour of.

Kelli’s hurt feelings about her cupcakes being rejected was real, especially when she explained to Issa and Molly how she felt left out and that Tiffany’s baby was interfering with their friendship. We’ve all had friendships end when babies are born. We know it’s irrational to take our anger out on the child but it can’t be helped. Kelli expressing herself was the most touching moment she’s ever had and showed a side of her that we hadn’t seen before. This was one of my favorite episodes.

I thought this was the funniest episode, starting with Derek saying "check" at the bar after hearing about Lawrence's chlamydia. I am weirdly relieved that Molly got her jacket back after the end of last weeks episode. Kelli always cracks me up.

Kelly is my favorite character on the show and I was so happy they showed some layers to her in this episode. (and my sister in law made my cupcakes the back up dessert at Thanksgiving last year-so I felt her pain!)
