Why is Lisa Lerer parroting the Republican talking point that the "enthusiasm gap" was closed by the Kavanaugh hearings, with Republicans now energized for the midterms? (She did this on Morning Joe (10/9) as but one example.)

I understand why FOX News and the Republican Party want to scoff at Women and at Democrats and say, effectively, "nice try, all you did was to make us madder."
But why is an actual news organization using this talking point as fact, or as a narrative thread? Or is there actual data of which I am unaware?
