I, for one, had no problem with the accents, or the length. It did, as Irish realist dramas tend to do, cross the inevitably line into melodrama. But the family dynamic was exquisite to watch, especially up close in a space like this, and Tim Ruddy's performance was priceless.

I wish someone in the Times theater department would be willing to say: “without the script I had, I would not have had much idea of what the actors were saying.” I’ve enjoyed Keating’s work before, and this seemed to be a decent show. Too bad that without a script I could only understand a quarter of it. New season resolution: Till directors learn to tone the accents down, I’m going to stop seeing shows with Irish or cockney accents.
