Believe it, the name Joey Grapes is said with respect and affection. And there is only one Joey Grapes. And there you always leave happy. Gives his smart hardworking straphanging customers a good deal, delivers what he promises and a bit more. Fifteen years. Don't you wish this mercante de vino was President?

The bar carts were a big draw on the LIRR for years for many commuters. The downside was that the car were there were stationed allowed smoking. One could smoke meat in them, but to the diehards, who had their daily commute home card games, it was a way of life. Now, buying their favorite alcoholic beverage, the game goes on minus the smoke.

PW&S indeed stands as an oasis within vast sands. While as story has noted one or two up-scale ventures have inched into the labyrinth, Penn Station for now is mostly a decrepit warren. And the trains are frequently delayed, or cancelled; in the case of NJ Transit, also often dirty and dysfunctional. The edge is too sharp, and kudos for a friendly enterprise that tries to smooth it.

Hope you've been playing Aretha this week.

This is wonderful news! All the other outlets have stopped selling wine, I suppose for the reason expressed by the previous commenter ... I have missed my mini bottle of wine on days I am returning from the city. Now I know where to go.. thank you!

Yes! I love this hidden gem! The staff is super helpful and it's so easy to grab a bottle and go - I pop down even when i'm not commuting sometimes.

Please don’t encourage the use of plastic cups. The world is drowning in it. Don’t they still make paper cups?? And wine in plastic? Ugh. We can all do better.

Agreed! Also, I hope that you don't own an SUV, or raise children or pets, buy fashionable clothing, or watch tv!

Yeah because wasted people in public/on public transit ALWAYS works out so well for everyone. Alcohol needs to banned anywhere close to and on any and all public modes of transportation, period.
