The NFL seems to have (d)evolved into a modern sharecropper arrangement. Why am I not surprised?

I am a disability attorney and just won a lawsuit for a former NFL player who was wrongly denied these benefits. It's great to see Paul on the good side of the fight! :)

Billions in profits, yet players have to hire an advocate to receive reasonable compensation for their injuries and disabilities?
Shame on the NFL.

It's clear that Paul Scott has a mission to advocate and obtain positive judgements for players who have lasting disabilities for which the NFL benefit plan must compensate them.
This is nothing new, that is the reluctance of benefit plan administrators to deny applicants the compensation they are entitled. It's a confounding situation. Quite often a person such as Paul Scott is able to untangle the confusion of information which a disability claim can engender.
You are an angel, a justifying angel, Mr. Scott. Get some helpers and make this inhumane process of denying the needy their righteous benefits history.

I'm a lifelong Steeler fan and what happened to Mike Webster broke my heart. He was the soul of the Steelers and the Iron Curtain and for him to end up on the streets is literally a crime.
Thank you for standing up for the thousands of men who did their best for their teams, their fans and their cities.
Too bad the owners and the League can't just for once loosen the purse strings and care about the guys who make them billionaires.

Denying the legitimate claims of the players is the NFL modus operandi. I used to love American football, but the NFL owners and the obvious physical toll the sport takes on the players have greatly diminished my interest over the years. I still watch, mostly during the playoffs, but I wonder for how long...
