@Sara I totally agree. This show is amazing and relatable to me and my diverse group of girlfriends. So looking forward to Season 3 and hoping the remaining episodes are more connected. (Issa is so real she makes me cry. Insecure.)

A big bad decision was to create a season opener that was fast fragments. A new viewer might not really care about any of the folks, whereas lawrence & Issa felt compelling...true emotional landscape. This show felt like all plot chop.

I love this show! I don’t always understand the language used, but I get the gist enough to enjoy what’s going on. Issa did the right thing at We Got Y’all by trying to find out why schools were no longer participating in the program. When she took that info to Joanne, Joanne should have been open to hearing it instead of scolding Issa. The look on Freda’s face was telling that she, too, was uncomfortable with the situation, and she looks down right miserable in her new position. I’m looking foward to seeing how all these situations play out.

Great season opener. I think Issa is on the right track toward making better decisions. She knows that We Got Y'all is a patronizing, condescending operation. I hope she finds another job and quits to hypocrite Joanne's face. I like the fact that she started driving for Lyft. That feels real to me; many of my friends are doing this to make extra money right now. It set the stage for humor and good conversations between Issa and Molly. I also think the show gave us glimpses of Daniel's depth. He's not just a cad who's having loud sex in the room next to Issa. The scene where he's playing guitar and confronts Issa over what she wants--friendship or something more?--makes me think we will see more of this storyline. Issa was right to stop it for now. She's not ready yet. As for Molly, she thinks she has it all right now, but I sense that she will have more challenges to overcome, even at the lucrative new job. High-paying jobs come with high demands. Glad she stood her ground about the key.

Other bad decision (don’t know who made it)....no Lawrence.

There's something special about this show! It reminds me of so many of the women that I used to hang out with during my early days in NYC - some thirty years ago! I was so influenced by these Divas that I wrote a play about them, "Tar Beach Incidentals," that was performed at the Westbeth Theater Center down in the Village. Issa Rae certainly has a finger on a lot of pulses -must see TV!
