Spelling Bee is a fantastic show and I saw Ms. Saltzberg in the original production! I'm impressed that she has managed to find a way to balance her creative and business sides, as that is so hard for many actors to do in NYC. I would be interested to know, if her business offers health insurance to its agents? 401K? Paid time off or disability benefits? I would be doubly impressed if so. If not, then while this can be a great job for actors to fit in with their creative lives, it also still qualities as a freelance job, which, while paying the bills and perhaps paying them well, is still akin to waiting tables and temp work, and does not assist a person with long-term financial viability towards retirement and health.
