We hope she succeeds over the Republican incumbent. It’s not because she’d be first at anything, but because of her stance on issues like healthcare, education, women’s health initiatives. She appears to be present for Kansans at a time when we can’t count on her opponent to do the same.

Why exactly does it matter that she is a lesbian, a woman or native american? Why can't we stop labeling people by such meaningless tags of identity?

She's a lesbian and a Native American. That's cool, but can't we can slice and dice the identity politics even further?
