I’m sorry to say this because I know many people admire Mr. Musk, but it has been very clear for years that he is a joke among serious business people. He’s an emotionally sensitive boy. And no profits since 2003...what kind of scam is that?

This is the same company that just a few weeks ago was asking suppliers to return money advanced for parts. Funding secured? With cryptocurrency or magic beans?

It’d be a shame if Musk gets into trouble for not simultaneously making the announcement in another media venue. The short sellers won’t make hay, they’ll just get revenge. That might be all they get unless the courts are in their pocket somehow. Tesla is on a roll that has the potential to make us all breath easier. That includes the short sellers and the planet as well.

I’ve always been amazed how the press, driven by misinformation from the shorts, is totally missing what’s happening with Tesla. They should report on what the owners know: Amazing, amazing, amazing product. Supercharging network is vast and key. No evil dealers, no headaches! No smelly garages. Won’t kill you. Wake up to full tank every morning. Instant acceleration never gets old. Never ever will go back to gas cars. And much much more... Q2 was not a surprise to owners. Profitability will not be a surprise to owners. Long term success will not be a surprise to owners. The press is really missing what’s happening right now.

Isn’t this the sort of thing that the SEC exists for?

Elon Musk and Tesla are probably the best examples of companies that should be private. Both for the sanity of the founders and management, as well as for the shareholders and investors. These big audacious bets for a company without profitably streams should be done in private labs before being unleashed upon public retail shareholders. Many of the hard accountable conversations that need to be had are better done in private rather than over twitter and social media.
