$1,250 for a white shirt. How deliciously grunge. Pah!

It's wonderful alliteration but The 'Godmother of Grunge' is not an accurate way to describe Kim or Sonic Youth's impact on music. Sonic Youth had next to nothing to do with grunge/ of their 20+ records I haven't come across one that I would apply that title to.

Hope she exhibits in LA!

And let's not forget her Gossip Girl performance when she married the couple, and then Sonic Youth performs at the wedding party. Kim is a natural at everything.

For a certain kind of Gen Xer, Gordon isn't just a part of our collective biographical soundtrack, she's also a role model. I think we (Gen X) are the last cohort to view selling out as a bad thing--in fact, it's been a while since I've even heard the term used. But Ms. Gordon? A sell out? No, she's an extraordinary talent who wants, like any reasonable human, to be compensated for her art and the commercial use of her name.
