Saw this last night. For the first time in a long time, I quite agree with a New York Times critic. This is an exquisite production. The writing, acting, setting, and staging all rise to the occasion. But since the actors were all Japanese and spoke with accents, I almost wish they spoke the original text with subtitles. The translation was fine, but it seems it would have been more authentic hearing the original.

I agree with the other comment here: this is an excellently written review. It not only makes you want to see the play--it also contextualizes it in a thematic approach.

This is my idea of an excellent review. The feeling, the flow of speech; it is to theatre review what Edwin Denby was to dance.
