The only way to get to these rather ordinary houses is by helicopter - destroying the peace and quiet of tens of thousands en route. But perhaps that's the point?

Wow! That is a huge amount of money for such generic homes. You would expect houses at that price point to have beautiful carpentry or other original detailing, but these look like McMansions across the US.

3 million is almost entry-level in the Hamptons. The more expensive home appears to be beachfront property. You can tag on 2-3 million just for a beachfront location. Designer homes/estates in the Hamptons are around 15 million. If you know that 2.5 million to 3.5 million is more or less entry-level, it all starts to make sense.

Almost entry level is around 1million. At least 70 homes in east Hampton on the market now beetween 700k and 1 million.
