This is amazing - thank you so much for being a powerful advocate for a powerful medium in the classroom! I have found much success in my classroom using comics and graphic novels. I now travel the country giving professional development on this very topic - at state and national education conferences, in-services, universities, and, of course, comic cons! I put a lot of lesson plans on historycomics.net - including a powerful one using Madaya Mom, as you mentioned. The medium of comics is such an engaging and powerful tool for 21st century literacy and the US is finally catching up on this topic. Thank you again - I will be sure to share this article.
