That ending was a great twist!
As responsible humans, we need to make sure that our canine and feline friends are healthy and happy. Separation anxiety is a common issue for dogs, especially when they are young. People often don't realize that excessive scratching, chewing and barking are not signs of a "bad dog" but of an anxious one. I find that a couple of days a week at doggy daycare with dog walkers on other days helps to alleviate some of the issue. There is also a channel on Roku called "Relax my Dog' that I use when I travel with them. It plays music that masks noises that they find disturbing.

Nice twist at the end of your Diary entry, Sheila.
Yorkies can be lovable, but most of the Yorkies I’ve known are so high-strung that they certainly do need emotional support!

Thanks for the sweet little piece! I've always thought that it's properly the humans' jobs to provide emotional support to their animals - our lives must be confounding to them, and their equanimity in the face of it nothing short of amazing

As my cats cower in another room during a bathroom re-do, I concur...

When the fire alarm goes off in my building, my Yorkie is strongly need of emotional support. Most other noises especially faint ones are greeted with loud barking.

When the telly plays a "test of the emergency broadcast system" during the wee hours, my cats run like the Dickens, and gone somewhere for hours.
