While I’m sure Barbaro wasn’t too put out by Cooper’s accusation of cynicism, the moment speaks to the problem with access journalism. Maybe in order to keep her sources happy, Cooper had to throw Barbaro under the bus, instead of conceding the obvious, that this administration, like the one before it, is not going to challenge the public’s lack of desire for a ground war in Syria.
