Trying to correct the past is a fool's highway. Do a better job now, but this is not a valid use of precious space. The story of Toll House cookies is already well known.

While Ruth Wakefield did not invent the cure for some deadly disease, her ingenious recipe has brought and continues to bring millions of smiles to kids and adults alike every time someone bakes her cookie creation. For me, it's a toss up of which sensation I love more - the smell of these cookies baking in my oven or the taste of the cookies themselves from the very first bite. Actually, I believe it's a pure win-win situation. Thank you NYT for including Ms. Wakefield in your repertoire of special, gifted and unique women.
