Wow! As an Aggie who hasn't been following the sports teams much since I was there in '98, I was astounded to check the news and see this is headline. I'm more used to the times when the Aggies falling in the first round of the NIT tournament was a success. To beat the Tar Heels by 20 to move into the Sweet 16? That's crazy! Gig 'em!
First Virginia gets blown out by a 16 seed. Then UNC gets blown out in what is basically a home game. Perhaps the ACC is a tad overrated?.

I'm a UNC fan and was not particularly surprised. This is a great team, but they don't always perform well under pressure and end up making poor shots. They lost to rivals NC State and Duke this season (technically they're 50-50 on W/L with those teams this season) and most recently caved to UVA in the ACC tournament.

I honestly don't recall the last time all of the brackets were broken so early in the tournament. What a wild and unpredictable series of games.

I don't usually follow N.C.A.A. basketball as if I were in some kind of sports trance, but this year's tournament has got me glued to the TV screen due to so many underdogs emerging victorious and knocking off the anticipated favorites, one by one. And if that isn't stressful enough for my heart, there was that incredible last minute basket by Clayton Custer, which bounced straight up off the rim before falling through and gave those Loyola Ramblers a one-point lead and then winning the game. I thought I might go into cardiac arrest after that win. WOW! College basketball does not get any better than this. And the fun and excitement is just beginning!!! It's games like this that truly define March Madness to a tee.

Within the chaotic realm of the first two rounds, order will emerge. It seems quite possible that duke and kentucky will make the final four, as they have so many times since 1985. It seems that every year one or two high seeds are vanquished early , and every year the final four is nevertheless some combination of the powers that be and the occasional interloper( think George masoin 06 or VCU 11) . Alas, a "name" team takes home the hardware ultimately.
