It seems as though none of the NYT scribes made it to a show by Crumb or Palm - otherwise, I'm sure they would have been included here!

I heard really great things about the music group MIKNNA as well. They are from LA and feature vocalist Mike B. as well as producer Ken Nana. They are up and coming, don’t miss them!

Music made in 60-90's by artists was being made by young people, who although were young, seemed to have weight, experience, true lived in style and character and backbone - anyone from Dylan to Crosby Stills Nash, Janice Joplin to Sly and the Family Stone to the Ramones to even Mudhoney the Breeders and Nirvana. I'm a huge music fan - and still keep up with current music, but more and more it seems like a bunch of middle class, impossibly young and "young looking" (read experience wise) kids playing dress up for a few years before or after college. It almost looks like an "everybody wins" school talent show at times. There is good stuff out there (Ty Segal etc).- but even It is missing "the gravitas" good music used to have both socially and artistically. I strongly suspect the internet and the narcissism of social media have something to do with all of it.

I take it back!....(some of it anyway). I just saw a 17 year old young woman fronting a band called Snail Mail and she was great. The whole band were great. Music springs eternal.
