Californians do care about preventing crime. We're against corruption, against using public money to line the pockets of the Trump family, and in favor of smart public policies that actually reduce crime and prevent recidivism. On a recent drive through the Palm Springs area of California I was struck by how huge the divide is between the West coast and the prairie states. I stopped counting the wind mills in one California desert when I could see that it exceeded a thousand. Pete Wilson's stand against immigrants set the Republican Party back for decades to come, as will Trump's wherever a wall (literal or otherwise) is built.

How will it go? The Secret Service, an agency that is not politically leaning, will have to create mile wide buffer zones between this guy and the rest of us. A monumental waste of time and money! Our infrastructure was the envy of the world fifty years ago and now we've let it decay to a third world level. If American employers weren't so eager to take advantage of cheap, undocumented and easily intimidated labor, we wouldn't have a Mexican immigrant "problem."

The former president of Mexico Vincente Fox was a guest on Bill Maher's show a few weeks ago. When Maher introduced him, Mr. Fox came out on stage holding a sign saying "I arrived here by tunneling!!" He also said "Elect an opposition majority to Congress - so they can domesticate him (Trump)."
