Many people in the US don't know the first Europeans to arrive in America from Spain and Portugal were highly educated and rich. Conversely, the ones arriving later from Europe arrived on convict convoys after being expelled from mainland, England. The history books do not tell you this.. The convicts were poor, uneducated and 'intractable' according to historical text. The first Europeans came without their wives to start a new life, with new families. They were Catholic, so did not believe in any form of trickery or violence. The convict convoys and later arrivals were Protestant who brought their wives. They did not come to mix. They came over to inhabit what was told them belonged to them, and they did with trickery and violence.

I AM A NATIVE, I AM A EUROPEAN, THEN, I AM AN AMERICAN

Sadly, folk in the US believe their history started in 1776. No, it started with the Natives and then incorporated the first Europeans who married them. These are the real Americans, but somehow this history doesn't appeal to the US.
