Mistake pigeons for ducks? Thank you for the morning chuckle. I worked diligently to keep my coffee in my mouth and off my keyboard. :-)

Which brought me to my challenge to New Yorkers -- no fair googling!:
1. Which back leg does a cow always lift to urinate?
2. What type of tree or shrub loses its leaves every fall?
3. Do coyotes dine on deer or on fruit?
4. T/F -- All bulls are solid colored
5. Wheat seed is planted in the fall or spring.

Enjoy!

I've been meaning to tell you for ages how much I enjoy reading your page every morning. Even if I'm not a New Yorder, I've often stayed in your beautiful city and I just love it, I adore New York, the hustle and bustle, the architecture, the people, Central Park and all the green areas, the different boroughs each with its own cultural identity, the energy, the creativity - it really is the most stimulating city in the world!! And I so enjoy reading my New York Today newsletter, which I get every morning by email, especially the intro - it always makes me smile!! A great way to start the day... Keep up the good work!

Nicely eclectic roundup of events for the weekend - brainy, high/low culture, physical activies, and spread across the boroughs. I appreciate that.

But a fifth-floor walk-up counts for the step-counter, doesn’t it?

Jaded New Yorker
Tune of Native New Yorker

You grew up slicing through cornfields
Tramping through forests
On that farmland, it was pretty
Now your life’s walking to subways, hiking to taxis
It’s a different walk in New York City

And oh, concrete isn’t good for your feet
So you paid the tab for that Uber cab
That you called with a tweet
You need to step back to make life complete

Ooh, ooh, ooh, you're a jaded New Yorker
You could used some nature now
You’re a jaded New Yorker
(Getting jaded, New York City boy
Leaves have faded, New York City boy
Get persuaded, New York City boy
Nu, ooh, ooh, ooh)
