Alternatingly amateurish and pretentious. The male and female leads are charmless and, worse, boring. Terrible, crass lighting and hideous costumes.

Saw this wonderful, beautiful , weird, challenging play at the A.R.Ts Oberon Theater in Cambridge MA over a year ago. Sammy Tunis has the presence and skill to needed to enthrall the audience , and the Times review nails it with regard to César Alvarez and his deep, clear, almost operatic voice. It's a rootsy musical American history play. With a feminist hero. Would be a greats opening act for a fantasy double feature with the transcendent "Hamilton".

NY Times, until you resume giving proper credit to the creative team, we'll have to do it for you!

I would add that César Alvarez is a performer of uncommon charm. His enthusiasm is infectious and his voice is soothing and intelligent.

It used to have more of a traditional book/narrative but it was felt the needed to be in another mechanism for it to be its unique self. I miss some character complexity and narrative it had but so glad its being appreciated for what it is rather than chastized for not being what it is not trying to be. I was with it for awhile and it remains one of my favorites....thanks for quoting
