New York Today: A Holy City

I wish the media would give the term "blood moon" (which sounds like a lesser Hammer Studios production of the early 1970's) a rest and adopt the more precise and Doctor Whoish sounding "lunar eclipse tetrad."

Besides, they look more orange than red to me.

PS -- Stop messing things up for the rest of us, North Carolina!

I sort-of wish I had the day off from work as a holy day, mainly to avoid the crowds. It looks like it's going to be really unpleasant on the streets, but yet not unpleasant enough to mentally justify giving up a day's work (and pay) by staying home.

tune of "Another Hundred People"

Another thousand people just got stuck on a train
On their way to the Pope
With another thousand people staying put on a bus
And they’re giving up hope
As another thousand people are just going insane
And they’re trying to cope
As they’re hoping in vain
To be touched by the Pope
On this holy day

It’s a city of Francis - some come to gawk, some to pray
A city of Francis - some come to hawk spots for pay
And so today, we hear them say:

“We lucked out with tickets in the crowded Garden and the crowded park”
“I brought lots of cash, I really didn’t plan, honey please don’t snark”
“I’m a V.I.P. and I don’t really care, I’m going for a lark”

“I just saw a scalper, but it’s too expensive so I’m saying no”
“Yes, I know it’s messy but I need a blessing so I have to go”
“Yes I know it's sounding like a holy pain
But I have to be a part of it, I can’t explain”
“No I’m really not religious, but it’s sure to entertain”

And another thousand people just got stuck on a train (5x)
