Those 3 guys were the best, and it will be a long long time before what they accomplished can even be reached. I still remember one of Jack's putts, blind, uphill, over the top curling down, crossing the green and dropping softly into the hole. I think of it often these days. The best of the best. All 3 of them.

Sarazen, Nelson and Snead, the original starters. Nicklaus, Palmer and Player, the biggest Big 3. Incredibly tough acts to follow, but perhaps Faldo, Watson and Crenshaw will be asked to pick up the baton at the appropriate time. Others could nominate other worthy golfers, but there is no doubt that it's something Seve should have had the chance to do.
