Mr. Mosley can flat out write... Being a (white) college student in CA's early '60s was as close to Paradise as I'll likely ever get. By the time I my USN enlistment was up, May, 1971, the changes were palpable. In 2000 I moved to southern OR.

This was wonderful - thank you for reviving so many great memories. Looking forward to the next batch!

What a great retrospective. I think all Californians know that life in this fair state was never quite so simple or idyllic as it appears in this collection of photos. However, this selection does a fine job of expressing the hope, optimism, and energy that I vividly remember as a kid. Oh, but for the good old days.

I was born in LA in 1968 and spent one year there before moving to New England. Babies of course take in their surroundings visually, and I believe it made an impression on me. My mother disagrees and thinks my sole focus was on her. Little did she know.

Not all is what it seems. Orange County Health Agency found that drug overdose deaths have increased by 88% between 2000-2015 and nearly half the deaths were due to accidental prescription drug overdoses. There were nearly two million prescriptions for Opioids in 2015, according to the Alcohol Drug Advisory Board. https://www.nzherald.co.nz/world/news/article.cfm?c_id=2&objectid=12167723
